My favorite time of day is between 10 pm and midnight. During this time, the whole world seems to be asleep and the air takes on a soft hum of peace. I like to light a candle, turn on a soft and slow playlist, and read a good book while curled up in bed. Each part is crucial to the ritual. These hours, after dark, are my prime.
Lately, my life has been busier than usual. This is relatively normal for this time of year. Work gets busier as the days get longer and it’s all I can do to get and stay caught up. I come home and try anything and everything I know to de-stress and unwind. A lot of the time, that includes cooking dinner and catching up on Netflix with my puppies at my side.
Honestly, that’s not my ideal. That’s not my “picture perfect” idea of unwinding. You see, I have a love affair with my bed. If I could spend a great deal of time between those smooth sheets reading and listening to music, life would be perfect.
It seems, no matter how hard I try, I can’t get to bed for longer than it takes to sleep the night away. No long days spent lounging. No late nights spent awake reading. However, I’ve found a way to make the time I do have with my bed count.

Time for Bed is a playlist I have been working on for years. It’s my pride and joy.
Ever since I was young, I’ve needed the sweet allure of music to help lull me to sleep. It’s super important to have a way to help your mind escape when you’re laying in bed. For many years, my anxiety ruled this time. Night was a great mask for all my worries and fears to hide behind. So my bedtime playlist became super important to me.
